Still hungry...

Little Sutter-butter (really need a better nickname) is almost four weeks old. I don't know how time has gone so fast and at the same time feel every single one of those 28 days. I've spent the majority of the time feeding her. She is a bottomless pit, which is made worse by the fact that she sleeps through feedings and then wants to eat immediately after. Even with all that eating, she's still got very few rolls. This is about as close as we get.. chunky cheeks and some thigh rolls. She's a teeny tiny thing,

 

 

She's looking less like Emmy and more like Blake to me. She's also constantly got her mouth open, especially while she's sleeping. She makes "blakeface" constantly, sticking her tounge out between her lips.

 

At night she makes these crazy loud grunting noises.  I remember Beckett made these, but not like this. She will wake you UP from a dead sleep. She makes them when she's trying to get her arm out of the swaddle. Once that happens, she's good. (Until she's STARVING again then the girl can SCREAM.)  She's started to have some kick kick time, and even started making a few cooing and gurlging noises. I've noticed that she will hold attention on you for a few seconds now. Ready to get to the fun baby noises phase =) This is a mix of grunting and cooing, but doesn't really show ju

 how loud she gets.

 

She's alternating between days where she sleeps for five and six hours at a time and I have to wake her up and days like today where she was awake from 7 am to 8 pm with NO NAPS!!! even thought she looked like this most of the time. UGH! She also HATES to be put down. She'll sleep during the day as long as you're holding her. There's not a lot getting done around here.

 

 

I love her crazy toes. They are seriously long. And also her little folded ears. I swear it looks like a little bird inside her ear, but Blake says I'm crazy.

 

 The swing is our friend. If she's fussy, it magically calms her down, unless of course, B arrives to shoot her off into the stratosphere with his crazy pushing. Seat belts are mandatory.

The swing has some magically power over Emmy and B and they can't keep thier hands off. They also can't seem to keep thier hands off of poor Sutton. All her baby hair is going to be rubbed of with kisses and touches. Emmy loves the smell of her hair and tells me all the time that we got the "cutest baby in the whole wide world", and B says "awwww Sweetheart!."  I'm so glad they love her, and hope it will last!

Sutton's Sip and See

Sutton made her first Party Appearance at a Sip and See my sister, Megan, and Betsy threw for me this weekend. It was a very fancy party for my little lady. Amazingly, I took not one single picture. Thank goodness Loo took a few for me.

The decorations and the food were  super cute! Mini strawberry shortcakes, breakfast bruschetta, fruit pizzas, scones, and of course, mimosas!

 Sutton is so blessed to get so many thougthful  gifts. Even a rocking chair, which Mom and Dad painted (most likely at 3 in the morning. )  I feel better now that she has some monogrammed things. I was starting to get a twitch ;) She's going to need to grow pretty quickly to fit into all of her cute new clothes!

 I'm so thankful to have such supportive family and friends. Thanks to all!

The first week as a family of 5

Somehow it's already been a week since we've been home from the hospital.

This is a good picture of what the week looks like for me...

This girl is constantly eating her hands like she is STARVING. As soon as she eats (for almost an hour) she's got them back in her mouth chomping on them again.

She's also had her first bath, which she wasn't so crazy about.

 Had a milk party with a princess...(and the princess couldn't have been MORE excited)

 

 Watched WAY too much tv ....

Introducing Sutton!

It's been so long since I blogged that there's a new Vacekito! That's right, #3!

Introducing Sutton Alice Vacek. Born July 23, 2014 at 8:51 am. She was a tiny 6 lbs 8 oz and 20.25 inches long.

 

 We decided that we wouldn't find out the gender of this baby. I was just sure that this was a boy. (mainly since the pregnancy was more like Beckett's and because of a radiology tech that used the pronoun "he." ) That meant I am 0 for 3 on correctly guessing the sex of my kids. The pediatric nurse asked me what I thought it was when I went into the OR and I told her a boy. She told me after "so I started making the bow hat as soon as you told me. "

We were all very surprised when she showed up!  I will say, that pretty much none of our family to this day believe that we didn't know the sex.  As proof, I give you the incredibly swollen feet and the FIVE! (yes FIVE names) we went to the hosptial with.

 

 

 The C section went well and Blake got to wheel the still unnamed baby girl out to meet the family.

After I finally made it to recovery and got to really see her sweet face, we decided that Sutton was her name. Blake claimed to have known this all along and even gave me a sweet necklace with an S initial on it.

The kids were immediately in love. Poor Sutton is going to have more kisses and pats on the head than she ever wanted. Emmy even wanted to come back to the hospital later that night to watch her get her first bath. Beckett just loved holding her and decled "it's tuut." and "this my sister."

 

She's been a relatively easy baby so far, just eating and sleeping and being incredibly cute. We can't get over just how teeny tiny she is, or just how much she looks like her big sister. We are so excited to see how her personality grows as she does!  We have decided that her nickname should be Squeak. When she cries really hard she squeaks as she breathes in. Just like a little squeaky toy =)  She is also very smiley! We're going to pretend it's not gas.

 

 Before we knew it was time to head home. Thank goodness I found the teeniest Coming Home outfit I could find. (Props to Aunt Megan for the same day monogramming on the blanket!)

 After we made it home and got settled in, I got one more big smile. I think we're all glad to be home!

Kate's Painting Party

We ran home from Vancouver and headed down to Port Neches for Kate's big painting party. The girls were so cute all dressed in their bright colors that these are the most adorable photos.

 They all got down to business and focused on creating their masterpieces.

 Emmy and Caroline decided to paint the same flowers. We always laugh that they are so different and in true Emmy fashion, she was the first one finished in about 10 minutes, and Caroline was the VERY last one finished, and it looked fantastic.

The girls always have fun when they get together, and we were so glad we got to come celebrate with sweet Kate.
