Cupcakes: 5 months

So now that I (unfortunately) know how easy buttercream is to make, and how much fun we have all making cupcakes together. I think we'll be making B's cupcakes from now on. These are wedding cake and they aren't too shabby! At 5 months Beckett is:

-Almost 18 pounds!! Little chunk! -Has officially had his first ear infection and pink eye. I say a prayer every 10 minutes that we're not starting down the Emmy road to tube-ville.

-Is pretty much sitting up all by himself! And likes to roll and roll and roll. We'll find him under the couch, by the fireplace, or under the chair.
- is still squealing and squealing and squealing! He will do it pretty much all day and wherever he wants.

- Will growl at you when he's not particularly pleased with how things are going.

-LOVES the exersaucer
- Thinks his sister is pretty hilarious, and she thinks she's pretty hilarious too

-"chews" imaginary food and will STARE you down while you're eating, but food is still not really all that interesting. He does love Mum Mums. He is eating 6 oz every 3 hours.

- Sleeping more! (Thank goodness!) He goes down around 10-10:30 and usually sleeps till about 5-7 with a wakeup some nights, some nights not. Sometimes he's completely zonked!

- Is really grabbing and swatting. He is so persistent when he wants something. He will bat and swat and grab until he gets it.

-Still a pretty happy little (and did we mention CUTE =) guy!)

Big Blessings for the Little Man

We baptised Beckett on Sunday, Jan 29th at our church, St. Peter's. To make it extra special addition, he also got to be baptized with his cousin Samantha. We were lucky to be able to have our preacher from the church service we traditionally go to work jointly with the more traditional preacher to have the perfect mix of old and new. Along with the traditional rites of baptism, we were each asked to write a prayer and pick a verse to represent our wishes for our children. To brag on the Hubs, his prayer was so good that the preacher told us that he had people ask if they could have a copy of it! We picked Proverbs 3 1:6

"My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. "

We asked Andrew and Ann to be Beckett's godparents. With 10 years of friendship under our belts, now they REALLY can't get rid of us =) We were honored to have so many people come to celebrate this special day with us.

As a side note, this is the THIRD outfit I bought for him to be baptised in. No way was he getting baptised in a dress and they just don't make cute things for boys!

After the ceremony we moved the party to the Allstars Cafe for breakfast and cake.
The kids got to go crazy on TWO play places and Aunt Susu kept the money supply going for the claw candy game.

We are so happy that Beckett has so many people to love and guide him as he grows. Everyone here is so special to us and we're thankful they took the time to be there.

Bleh...

We started food with Beckett right at 4 months, just like we'd done with Emmy, and he only had one thing to say about it... BLEH! Not only does he not want to keep it in his mouth, he flat out clenches his lips so you can't get anything in. We keep trying every week to introduce something that he might like but nothing is cutting it. So far bananas are the only thing that he let in his mouth, but we did get a LOT of really funny pics!

Sweet Potatos
Bananas
Cereal (by far his least favorite, but it would be mine too)

Carrots

Pears

Peas

4 month pics

I have a crazy tradition where I go to take the kids pic every month. I am KIND of obsessed with pictures and it's a really fun way to watch them grow. With Emmy I got spoiled and had all of them digitally because all of the places would let you have the CD. Now they charge you $150 bucks for that thing, so what is below is janky screen shots ripped off the JCPenney's website, but they'll do. He took such cute ones this time I'm glad to have them! He really was a ham this time!

A Rockin RSV New Years

Before I forget, I'd like to commerate our AWESOME New Year's Eve this year. It consisted of Albuterol, Asti, and Justin Beiber on TV. If that's not a combo to make anyone jealous I don't know what is!

Thanksfully the little guys was back to himself in about a week, no hopsital needed.

Cupcakes: 4 Months

The big 4! These are actually handmade cupcakes for Christmas Numero Tres: East Christmas on New Years Day. Beckett managed to knock one over and onto the floor about six times. I won't divulge if we snuck that one back into the general pile for the party =) At four months Beckett is:

Weight: 15lbs 12 oz (62%)

Height:25.5 in (69%)

Head: 94% (of course!)

* A drool monster!!! His shirt is just covered in drool all the time. He's gnawing on everything. His favorite is his squeaky giraffe or any type of blanket. The boy LOVES a blanket. He's also started to spit and blow bubbles with his tounge.
*Happy! He is quick to smile and typically a happy, easy go lucky little guy. His mouth is always WIDE open.

* Rolling! (as of Dec 28th)

*Found his toes. He is grabbing on to them whenever he can with both hands, but he hasn't managed to get them in his mouth just yet.

* A squeal machine. We are afraid he's going to wake up his sister sometimes.

*Loves to hold hands. While he's eating, while he's playing, when he's trying to eat your hand he's holding....

*Still not sleeping a ton. He ypically goes to bed around midnight and sleeps with one wake-up for a pacifier until about 6:30 or whenever Emmy wakes him up (and mommy gets very mad)He's still taking naps in the swing, when he'll take them, but that's about to change. Sleep training here we come!

*Eating about 6 ounces every three hours. He is a super messy eater, and usually has food all over his chin, face, and down in the folds of his double chin. He's also a picky thing. We've gone through three different types of bottles and he won't eat cold formula.

Here's some overall cuteness from the month :

*His favorite toy by far is Sophie the Giraffe. One night he was up with us after Emmy had gone to bed and he just had his giraffe under his arm and then he'd gnaw on the head for a while and make sad sad sounds. It was pretty cute.
