My two little firecrackers:
We spent the day packing for Mexico and fighting B's fever. We did manage to squeeze in a little bit of pool time. Emmy practiced jumping in the pool and Pops kept telling her to shut her mouth when she jumped in, but if she did that, then she couldn't concentrate enough to jump. It's amazing to me! The Blake face is key to concentration =) Given the fever and one worn out little girl we didn't even do a sparkler. Can't say I'm TOO sad about that, and there's always next year!

Cupcakes: 10 months
My Beckaroo is just moving right along though the cupcakes:
At 10 months Beckett:
*Has gone from crawling to "franken-walking" to pretty much running
*Like to dig in cabinets until he finds a "treasure" then runs off as fast as he can and carries the "Treasure" around until he finds the next one
* Decided he needed to climb the stairs as well
* LOOOOOOOVES a raspberry (and pretty much any other fruit)
* Says "a-DUH!" and dada and squeals
*When he really wants something he bucks his entire body back and forth and makes his "huh huh" noise.
* Still pretty much only interested in eating things (Especially the dog bones) ,walking around, and messing. For the record I have TRIED to read, point out animals, sing songs and he's not having any of it.
* Has learned how to pull the safety plug stops out of the outlets and eats them for a snack. He looks kind of like a vampire.
*His hair seems to grow every single day and it's coming in curls!
*Knocking stuff off the side of the bathtub into the water is JUST about the best game ever
*Still has my favorite rolls around his ankles and wrists
* Messes and messes and messes and messes
* Loves his bit bit (how did we end up with two kiddos with bit bits)
*Refuses to sit down in the bathtub (JUST like his sister)

A low key father's day
It was a pretty low key, but fun father's day. Pops was in Arkansas at Laura's first baby shower for Clara, so we just had a Vacek celebration.
We decided that this year we would do something fun for Boppa. This was my inspiration...
Here's a few of the (500) outtakes...

Sometimes I neglect to remember that all of the kids are under 5. Here's what we ended up with. It took pretty much an entire box of cookies but I KIND of love it!
Here's a few of the (500) outtakes...
Everyone came over to our house for some yummy Pappasitos fajitas and then the kids got to each decorate a giant cookie for a dad. There was a LOT of sprinkles involved. And when I say a LOT I really mean a LOT.
Believe it or not, we actually ate these after.
And then for the entertainment portion of the evening we were treated to a very fancy show of VBS tunes complete with actions by these guys:
Happy Father's Day!

We have a walker!
Beckett has pretty much been singularly focused since he was born, STANDING UP. Over the past few days he's been doing more standing by himself without holding on. He would dance a little, stand a little, wave a little, then fall down. Well today he must've just decided, "and now I will walk." He went from just standing there to literally taking 15-20 steps at a time!!! The key seems to be having something in his hand. We have a million toys and of course, he's latched on to this random brush that's been sitting in a drawer for four years. If it makes him walk we'll take it. Now on to baby proofing! At the rate he's going he'll be up the stairs in a week!
Boop Boop and Babyface! Recital is here!
Evidently I have the only little girl who does not like, rather HATES putting on makeup. It took FOUR TRIES to get makeup on her. We would get all the way to mascara and then she would start crying. And forget lipstick. It was a rough start....
But we finished GREAT! After our soccer performance last weekend, I was a little worried that we were going to get a big performance of her standing on the stage with her hand in her mouth. I was SO happy when at dress rehersal she knew her dance much better than I've ever seen her do in class. We've been practicing and I think it paid off!

We started with her tap dance "Babyface" I was most worried about this one but she did great!
But the one that really brought the house down was her ballet to the three little fishies song "boop boop didum dadum wadum Choo". First off, how adorable are they in the teal tutus.
The dance has them shaking their little hips when the song says the "boop boops". At rehearsal Ms. Kathy told them to make certain they step out and really shake their hips when they do that. I guess Emmy really took that to heart. I have never seen moves like this! She. Was. SHAKING. it! All serious hip action.

After her grand performance we took some time to celebrate. GiGi made the girls these fabulous matching bears! Emmy hasn't put hers down yet. The turquoise bear has eaten every meal with us.

After the late late night we didn't so much take a bath, more kind of washed her face. The result for the next day was this Cyndi Lauper look. Smudged eyeliner, neon, and 80s hair. This is her "don't want to be bossed "look from her fishies dance. We now do this look several times a day.
Best Princesses
We don't get to see Betsy and Collin as much as we used to and it makes me so sad, but what does make me happy if that these little girls still pick up just like they haven't missed a day. Kind of like two other not so little girls I know.
