We were lucky to be able to have our preacher from the church service we traditionally go to work jointly with the more traditional preacher to have the perfect mix of old and new.
Along with the traditional rites of baptism, we were each asked to write a prayer and pick a verse to represent our wishes for our children. To brag on the Hubs, his prayer was so good that the preacher told us that he had people ask if they could have a copy of it! We picked Proverbs 3 1:6"My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. "
We asked Andrew and Ann to be Beckett's godparents. With 10 years of friendship under our belts, now they REALLY can't get rid of us =)

As a side note, this is the THIRD outfit I bought for him to be baptised in. No way was he getting baptised in a dress and they just don't make cute things for boys! After the ceremony we moved the party to the Allstars Cafe for breakfast and cake.

We are so happy that Beckett has so many people to love and guide him as he grows. Everyone here is so special to us and we're thankful they took the time to be there.
