Cupcakes: 5 months

So now that I (unfortunately) know how easy buttercream is to make, and how much fun we have all making cupcakes together. I think we'll be making B's cupcakes from now on. These are wedding cake and they aren't too shabby! At 5 months Beckett is:

-Almost 18 pounds!! Little chunk! -Has officially had his first ear infection and pink eye. I say a prayer every 10 minutes that we're not starting down the Emmy road to tube-ville.

-Is pretty much sitting up all by himself! And likes to roll and roll and roll. We'll find him under the couch, by the fireplace, or under the chair.
- is still squealing and squealing and squealing! He will do it pretty much all day and wherever he wants.

- Will growl at you when he's not particularly pleased with how things are going.

-LOVES the exersaucer
- Thinks his sister is pretty hilarious, and she thinks she's pretty hilarious too

-"chews" imaginary food and will STARE you down while you're eating, but food is still not really all that interesting. He does love Mum Mums. He is eating 6 oz every 3 hours.

- Sleeping more! (Thank goodness!) He goes down around 10-10:30 and usually sleeps till about 5-7 with a wakeup some nights, some nights not. Sometimes he's completely zonked!

- Is really grabbing and swatting. He is so persistent when he wants something. He will bat and swat and grab until he gets it.

-Still a pretty happy little (and did we mention CUTE =) guy!)

Big Blessings for the Little Man

We baptised Beckett on Sunday, Jan 29th at our church, St. Peter's. To make it extra special addition, he also got to be baptized with his cousin Samantha. We were lucky to be able to have our preacher from the church service we traditionally go to work jointly with the more traditional preacher to have the perfect mix of old and new. Along with the traditional rites of baptism, we were each asked to write a prayer and pick a verse to represent our wishes for our children. To brag on the Hubs, his prayer was so good that the preacher told us that he had people ask if they could have a copy of it! We picked Proverbs 3 1:6

"My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. "

We asked Andrew and Ann to be Beckett's godparents. With 10 years of friendship under our belts, now they REALLY can't get rid of us =) We were honored to have so many people come to celebrate this special day with us.

As a side note, this is the THIRD outfit I bought for him to be baptised in. No way was he getting baptised in a dress and they just don't make cute things for boys!

After the ceremony we moved the party to the Allstars Cafe for breakfast and cake.
The kids got to go crazy on TWO play places and Aunt Susu kept the money supply going for the claw candy game.

We are so happy that Beckett has so many people to love and guide him as he grows. Everyone here is so special to us and we're thankful they took the time to be there.
